Roblox’s second quarter of 2025 (April to June) was defined by both dominance and disruption. Grow a Garden cemented itself as the undisputed leader on the platform, while new challengers like Steal a Brainrot and 99 Nights in the Forest broke into the top 10 in record time. Together, the ten most-played titles accounted on average, around 38% of Roblox’s total player base at any given time (average platform share), underscoring the winner-takes-most nature of engagement on the platform.

This article breaks down the top games of Q2, tracks their performance month-to-month, and explores how genres are shifting beneath the surface. In the next iteration, we will track how the top games have shifted from Q2 to Q3.

Top 10 Roblox Games of Q2 2025

At the very top sits Grow a Garden, averaging an eye-popping 1.39M CCUs across the quarter. That’s more than double Brookhaven at #2, and over 2.5x larger than Dead Rails at #3. Its success illustrates how Simulation/Tycoon mechanics, combined with LiveOps and retention loops, can create Roblox’s most powerful engagement engines.

Two of the most important stories this quarter came from new entrants:

  • Steal a Brainrot launched on May 16 and by June was already averaging 356K CCUs, making it a top-five contender. In the final three days of June, it even overtook Brookhaven in daily CCUs to claim the #2 spot.

  • 99 Nights in the Forest, released mid-June, wasted no time climbing into the top 10, ending the month with 119K CCUs and signaling strong early momentum for the Survival genre.

Meanwhile, Brookhaven once again proved its longevity. Month after month, the social roleplay hub held steady at 500K+, demonstrating the staying power of community-driven experiences even as new challengers surged.

Not every game held its ground. Dead Rails opened Q2 as one of Roblox’s hottest titles with 661K CCUs in April, but quickly lost steam, falling to 351K in June and slipping to fourth place by quarter’s end. Blox Fruits also continued its slow erosion, sliding from 428K in April to 247K in June, as newer hits across genres captured player attention.

Other titles faced more dramatic drop-offs. Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity peaked in May at 220K, only to tumble to 83K in June, underscoring how difficult it can be to sustain hype after a splashy sequel launch.

Monthly Roblox Trends and Genre Shifts

Breaking down performance month by month reveals just how quickly Roblox’s leaderboard can shift.

  • Grow a Garden skyrocketed from 142K in April to 2.5M in June, by far the strongest trajectory of any Roblox title this quarter.

  • Steal a Brainrot and 99 Nights in the Forest highlighted how fast new games can scale, reshaping the top 10 in a matter of weeks.

  • On the flip side, Dead Rails and Dandy’s World illustrate how steep the drop-off can be when momentum stalls, both losing nearly half their audiences by the end of June. Blox Fruits joins the list of titles losing steam, logging consistent month-over-month drops through Q2

But the bigger picture emerges when shifting from games to genres. Simulation dominated Q2, accounting for 22% of the top 100 titles. Tycoon blockbusters like Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot grabbed the spotlight, while Incremental Sims such as Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity remained the most common format within the genre. Survival followed at 15%, with strong showings in both 1 vs All experiences like Forsaken and Murder Mystery 2 and Escape experiences like Dandy’s World and DOORS. Action rounded out the top three at 13%, powered by competitive, skill-driven titles such as The Strongest Battlegrounds.

Outlook: Early Signs of Q3

The opening month of Q3 has already reshuffled the rankings. Grow a Garden shows no signs of slowing, surging past 2.6M CCUs in July and further widening its lead over the rest of the platform. Steal a Brainrot also maintained its momentum, nearly tripling its June average to surpass 940K CCUs — a clear sign it’s evolving from breakout hit to long-term staple. Meanwhile, 99 Nights in the Forest proved its June debut was no fluke, climbing to 674K CCUs and solidifying its place as one of Roblox’s fastest-growing survival titles.

Not all titles were able to keep pace. Dead Rails fell sharply to 161K CCUs in July, underscoring how quickly momentum can fade when players shift to newer content. Long-standing staples like Blox Fruits also slipped further, down to 207K CCUs by July. More strikingly, both Blue Lock and Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity fell out of the top 20 entirely, revealing the challenges of maintaining relevance in Roblox’s fast moving ecosystem.

At the same time, Q3 is already showing signs of the next wave. Forsaken continued its climb, reaching 224K CCUs on the back of updates and creator buzz, while Ink Game emerged as a potential newcomer to watch, jumping from 63K to 274K CCUs in just one month. Its early trajectory suggests it could be one of the next titles to disrupt the leaderboard.

If Q2 underscored Roblox’s competitive intensity, Q3 is already shaping up to bring fresh disruption. The leaderboard is more fluid than ever, with new titles capable of rewriting the rankings in weeks. What remains constant is Roblox’s ability to produce breakout hits at a pace few other ecosystems can match, a trend that shows no signs of slowing down.

Methodology

Data Source: RoTrends Quarter 2 Timeframe: April 1 – June 30, 2025
