Was Travis Kelce’s Collab with Grow a Garden a Success?

This past Saturday morning, Grow a Garden pulled in 20.15 million concurrent players. That's greater than the population of New York City. But here’s the kicker—it didn’t break the game’s previous record of 21.96M CCU set the week before.

And this latest Saturday event was with Travis Kelce—yes, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend—joining the game’s developer Jandel in Roblox for a live AMA.

Here’s what actually happened during the event…

Travis Kelce didn’t just show up in Grow a Garden—he flew in from the sky as a massive avatar, landing in an in-game arena lit by floodlights and pulsing with techno beats.

There, he joined lead developer Jandel (appearing as a mic-wielding monkey) for a Q&A in front of millions of bouncing, hyped-up players. Questions the dev posed to the celeb athlete ranged from “What life advice would you give the Grow a Garden community?” to “If you could be any plant what would u be and why?”

To reward the 20M+ players watching live, the devs restocked rare seeds (like cacao and sugar apple), brought back coveted items like the Master Sprinkler, and triggered weather events that turned crops into mutated (and highly-valuable) jackpot versions. Kelce’s avatar even handed out a free Football pet. His review? “Felt like getting in the end zone.”

Even though it failed to beat the game's previous CCU record, was the event a failure? No, not even close.

But it does show how celebrity hype ≠ conversion.

Grow a Garden players don’t just want stunts. They want the game itself to keep evolving.

And it is evolving—fast. Week over week, the dev team is dropping new content, new experiments, and new viral ideas. It’s held strong with 16M+ peak CCU's for 7 weeks straight, consistently driving millions of dollars in weekly revenue.

That’s exactly why I created the Grow a Garden - Roblox Game Teardown Case Study — to break down how this game keeps pulling off the impossible.

Thanks to everyone who’s already jumped in to buy it. We've had game devs and execs from the US to the UK grab their copy. Traffic to the Max Power Gaming site is spiking, and returning users are flooding back.

If you're on the fence, here's your nudge: Grow a Garden isn’t just a viral moment—it's a platform-defining phenomenon. Let me show you how it works—and how you can apply its strategies yourself.
