Beetlejuice Movie Tickets Now for Sale in Roblox via Fandango

Fandango powers real-world ticket sales for Warner Bros movie within Roblox.

A couple months after Walmart became the first brand to sell real-world items in Roblox, Fandango has entered the popular UGC gaming platform to sell movie tickets. In partnership with Warner Bros, Fandango is selling advance tickets to the movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
People can purchase these tickets within a Fandango branded area within the new [BEETLEJUICE] Escape the Afterlife experience, developed by Sawhorse. Disclosure, I worked on this project as part of the Sawhorse team, overseeing marketing and strategy.
Here's how this particular Roblox real-world commerce shopping experience works.
New Beetlejuice Roblox Experience - Escape the Afterlife
First off, players must go to the new Beetlejuice-themed experience in Roblox. The main gameplay involves players entering different maps, collecting keys, unlocking doors, and rescuing various movie characters. The visuals are very impressive, and I suggest you check it out in order to see all of the details the Sawhorse team created to make the experience truly immersive.
Fandango Theater in Lobby Area
The Fandango ticketing space is only accessible by people in the United States who are over 13 years old. For eligible users, they will see a Fandango-branded theater within the lobby area, which is a recreation of the model town from the Beetlejuice movies.
Approaching the Fandango Theater
When you navigate your avatar closer to the theater, you will see a Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie trailer, aline of NPCs waiting outside and marquee with funny fake movie titles.
Going Up to the Fandango Theater Box Office
As you head to the ticketing window, your avatar shrinks down in size to get closer to the theater employee stationed there.
Entering Zip Code Information
A widow pops up, allowing you to input your zip code information.
Selecting Your Movie Theater Location and Showtime
After you enter your zip code, the widow displays a set of nearby movie theaters and the available showtimes based on the date you select.
Selecting Seating
At this point a new window pops up, where you can select your seats and eventually complete your checkout transaction.
Unlocking UGC Avatar Item with Purchase
For those people who purchase movie tickets via this Fandango area, they will unlock a free UGC avatar item, a sign back item that says "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice."
Looking Ahead at Real-World Commerce on Roblox
It's exciting to see movie tickets now available for sale within Roblox. We are in the early days of real-world commerce being tested on Roblox, but each new test certainly brings with it new learnings.
What type of items do Roblox players want to purchase now and in the future? Well, I would like to see limited-edition items sold exclusively only Roblox. I think that could resonate with the audience.
